We have been dying to tell all of you but wanted to wait until everything was official! Seems it managed to leak out to some of you already :-) This is the surprise we have been hinting at for weeks...
WE ARE MOVING OUR LOCATION. But don't worry...we are literally moving about 500 feet South of our current location on 615/Center Street.
Quilts and Sew Forth, as of November 15th (if not sooner) will be located at 7406 Center Street - under Merrill Lynch Bank and next door to the deliciously inviting J's Pizza (home of the free slices :-)
Why would we leave such a lovely, charming cottage to go there (?) - well...in case you haven't noticed - WE ARE BURSTING WITH FABRIC...we can barely navigate around the store anymore! Thanks to you, all of our wonderful customers, our business has thrived and grown so much in just 2 short years!!! Plus we know how important it is to have all of our offerings on one floor to make it easy for all of you to peruse the goodies we have.
It is going to be beautiful, we will have a covered outdoor social setting come Spring (who knows...perhaps we can have some Quilting classes under the warm sun?!?), a huge classroom, a viewing room for our Gammill Quilting Machine in action, and so much warm natural light to make color choice a breeze as well as unbelievably high ceilings so we can display, effortlessly all of our gorgeous Quilts!
Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for we plan to turn this years BLACK FRIDAY into a COLORFUL FRIDAY Sale and Re-Grand Opening Extravaganza!

As promised, Quilts & Sew Forth, kept a tally going during our most recent Annual Sale on purchases made by every visiting 'Quilt Guild' etc. This tally was used to determine, in total, the group that bought the most fabric during our Sale. 06/02/10: NEW BOOK
Most schools do not offer sewing as a class or after school activity. There is a gap that needs to be filled. More than just a color by number book, this book is designed to teach children of all ages about color choices. The same quilt is pictured on facing pages. They are color coded (by number) so that when the quilts are colored in, the results look different. It is a lesson that demonstrates to adults, and now children, that design is secondary to fabric (and color) choices. The identical layout is repeated, without numbers, in the back of the coloring book so the child can use their imagination in creating their own design, if desired.
If a child shows interest in the coloring process, then maybe he/she will say "Grandma (Mom-Aunt-Friend), I want to make this quilt, may I?" What follows can be the construction of the desired quilt. The pieces are large to enable young fingers to easily handle and sew the fabric, complete the quilt, and increase the child’s manual dexterity.
The personal satisfaction for the child and the supervising adult, of a completed quilt is fantastic. The quilts can be used as doll quilts, lap or couch quilts, framed as a wall hanging, or made into a pillow. The patterns with diagrams are available on a CD or in print and are sewn by hand or machine. Kits complete with directions and fabric (reproduced according to the coloring book) are available to be sewn by hand or machine. Please see ordering information on the back inside cover.
Have fun coloring. Have fun bonding with your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends or students. Children will cherish the experience and, who knows, maybe they, too, will become a quilter (lucky them)!

Bi-Monthly Fabric Challenge
Come in and grab a bag of fabric today and join in on his fun & friendly competition. Your finished project should be between 24" x 24" and 36" x 36" with a maximum of 4 additional fabrics.
The entry fee is $6, with the winner to receive a store gift certificate of $10 or more, depending on the number of entries. To be eligible, your entry must have a label/name on the reverse side and be turned in by 5/29/09.
Entries to be judged by a third party not affiliated with the store. Submissions presume the right to photograph the projects and display them on our website/newsletter as well as in our store for up to 2 weeks.
