Free Motion: Beyond Stippling

Ready to move past quilting background fillers and stippling?

This class has been designed for those who want to begin exploring custom patterns for their quilts. We will experiment with traditional blocks and settings, and try out some of the possibilities that will give your quilt a custom look. You already know how to stitch, so no machine is required for this class. Just bring a drawing pad, pen or pencil, and a quilt(s) that you would like ideas on how to quilt.

Since this class is not machine-specific, quilters with domestic, short-arm, mid-arm, or long-arm machines can benefit from the quilting exercises.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Kathy McCarty, award winning quilter, began quilting, as a hand quilter, in 1986. Her enthusiasm for the craft produced more unfinished tops than completed ones, and she quickly turned to machine quilting to get those tops completed.

With over 20 years quilting experience, Kathy is eager to share her knowledge of machine quilting and piecing.
