Kids' Slumber Series: Pajama Pants

"Where can I get those?" This Slumber Series will have all of your friends asking you "how did you do that?" In part 1 of this exciting series, students will finish preparing their pajama pants, to be sewn from start to finish. In part 2 of the series they will complete a Pillow case to match or not - it's up to them! I say it is perfect to fill with Candy at Halloween!!

Choose from over 3000 fabrics to make the cutest matching pillow case and pajama pants ever! For children 8 and up. The only requirement is a desire to create!

Our Kids Camp with Esther D'Abate is going to be a jam packed, fun-filled series running every week on Mondays from 3:30-5:30 (excluding Holiday weeks). We have created this late afternoon activity for any boy or girl with simple working knowledge of a sewing machine (must know how to do basic running stitch and thread machine). Bring your own machine or rent one of ours.

We will have tunes, snacks and the MOST AWESOME KIDS' TEACHER AROUND! Don't miss out and tell all your friends to take this great class at the Quilt shop with the funkiest fabrics in town! Most sessions run $30/class (there are some 2 part series for $60) and with every 5 class (non-consecutive) sign up, Q&SF will be making a donation to the Parish of St. Gabriel's, Concord OH.

Fabric Requirements:

  • Pattern provided by Q&SF – pls come in to Q&SF (at least 1 week prior to Camp) to be measured for your pant pattern.
  • Fabric yardage requirement will be given at this time – after purchasing fabric pls bring home and pre-wash prior to Camp

  • Sharp scissors – not paper scissors
  • Sewing machine in good working order
  • Notebook (for note taking)
  • Sewing Kit
  • Elastic (yardage determined when measured for pattern)

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Esther started out as a garment sewer as a child. Sewing and design has always been her passion. If you don't find Esther in her sewing studio, then she's surfing the internet, wandering boutiques for her next inspiration or shopping thrift stores and flea markets for unusual items and textures.

Her wonderful husband Jeff is very supportive of her creative spirit and has driven the countryside on a "quest" for just the right thing. Esther is an award winning and apparel sewing, her Associates' Degree in Fashion Merchandising paired with her Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design have assisted her in forming classes in color theory, fabric selection and technique workshops for the past 10 years.

Esther is also a certified Sulky instructor and qualified in sewing machine educator. Esther's creations can be found under her label Quilted Cat Designs, which was inspired by her studio cat helpers, Buddy and Mouse. Her talents are also displayed at area art shows throughout the year. Some of Esther's favorite projects have been repurposing items as functional details and quilting bright and colorful fabrics into unusual combinations.
